Volume. Control.

I teach 6th-8th grade. They get here at about 6:30am. I normally don't see or deal with them until 7am unless I have early bus duty where I stand in the gym and babysit the students until they go to breakfast.

The thing is - I don't remember EVER being this loud at 7am. Ever. Why does anyone want to talk so much (let alone, scream, sing, chant, and or fight) so early in the morning?

I mean... I'm sure they stay up way later than me too! What is going on inside a middle school brain/body that would have them behave this way?

I just don't get it.
